Project 1

Mika Rend were awarded the prestigious contract of carrying out the external insulated render works to this property. As with any contracted awarded to Mika Rend it was paramount that the high standards associated with the companies work would prevail once again. The construction was built of nine inch solid brick walls. The general building works on the project were hampered by harsh weather which subsequently prolonged the completion of the insulated render. Despite the weather the external wall insulation was completed and to a very high standard.

Project 2

This project involved the application of external wall insulation to steel framed BISF properties. Weber therm XP insulated render system was choosen to improve the u-values and rejuvanate the properties. A combination of techniques had to be adopted to ensure the successful completion of the insulated render system. Mika Rend completed the external wall insulation works incorporating Webers XP system combining a 60mm phenolic insulation board together with a through coloured scraped back render.

Project 3

This project involved applying a suitable insulated render system. There was a requirement for a cavity between the existing wall structure and the proposed external wall insulation system. The existing concrete cladding of the properties was not deemed suitable to carry the additional weight of the insulation render system and thus prevented the system being directly fixed into the existing external concrete cladding. The result was that the insulated render system had to be directly supported via the steel frame of the building. This was achieved by incorporating an aluminum rail system to both support the external wall insulation via the steel frame and form a suitable cavity. The insulated render system comprised of an eps insulation board fixed to a rail system and a one coat spray applied mineral render incorporating mesh reinforcement.

Project 4

This contract involved the completion of an insulated render system in a short time frame and during a very unforgiving winter. The programme was achieved using the Weber therm XM system that incorporates one coat mineral spray applied render. During spells when temperatures remained very low we were able to complete the full application of render to multiple properties in a single day. The M1 render application also had the advantage of not suffering should there be minimal rainfall during curing periods, as opposed to the wash off scenario incurred with synthetic render that have not fully cured in the colder months.
